Join us on Friday, March 21st, 2025 at Trinity Washington University for the second annual DC Postsecondary Success Summit! Building on the energy of our inaugural event, this year’s Summit will bring together educators, industry leaders, and community partners to explore innovative strategies and share best practices for advancing multiple pathways and improving postsecondary outcomes in DC. We’re excited to come together to challenge our own thinking, adopt new practices, and build new relationships.  We can’t wait to learn alongside you!

  • This free, one-day conference is taking place at Trinity Washington University and open to any and all that work in postsecondary success. This could include professionals in K-12 education, nonprofits, workforce development, higher education, research and policy, government, philanthropy, and more. Our hope is that everyone can learn something new and share something important.

  • While this conference is free, you will be required to reserve a ticket due to limited space. Make sure you’re signed up for our newsletter to receive updates about the conference.

    The summit will feature two plenaries at the beginning and end of the day with theme-based breakout sessions in between. We will provide breakfast, lunch, and coffee! Look out for the full conference agenda in early February. We’ll also be hosting an optional community building happy hour following the conference - location TBA.

    Theme 1: Charting Multiple Pathways to Success 

    These workshops will provide valuable resources, insights, and strategies for advising youth on their postsecondary goals, focusing on broadening their knowledge of diverse career and postsecondary pathways. Attendees will learn how to guide students in aligning their career aspirations with the best-fit options. Sessions will also explore key outcomes associated with various pathways and highlight high-quality local opportunities.

    Theme 2: Trending Industries & Essential Skills: Unlocking Success in the Modern Job Market
    As the job market evolves, understanding the booming industries and the essential skills required to succeed is more important than ever. These workshops will focus on the high-growth, in-demand trending industries, pathways to enter them successfully, and ensuring that young people and residents are prepared to be competitive candidates in these fields.

    Theme 3: Targeted Supports for Postsecondary Success
    What unique barriers do students and residents face once they leave high school? These workshops will cover effective strategies / resources for providing personalized academic and career guidance and resiliency for challenges faced by our young people, including Black males, emergent multilingual learners (EMLs), students with disabilities, adult learners, students experiencing homelessness, parenting students, and other special populations.

    Theme 4: Navigating the Shifting Landscape of Education: Research & Policy

    With national education priorities shifting under new leadership, staying informed is essential for educators, policymakers, and community leaders in DC. These sessions will explore the evolving landscape of education policy and research, with a particular focus on local research, policy developments, and evidence-based practices. Attendees will gain insights and tools to navigate these changes effectively and drive meaningful impact in the DC area.

  • We are so excited to announce that the 2025 DC Postsecondary Success Summit will be hosted at Trinity Washington University’s Main Hall (125 Michigan Ave NE). You can find information on parking, public transportation, and more on Trinity’s website!

  • We are looking for volunteers to help support our planning efforts! You can sign up to join our 2025 Summit Planning Committee using this form. Here are the positions we’re still looking to fill:

    Day-Of Coordinator: Manage day-of coordination across all committee members

    Partnership Coordinator: Primarily responsible for coordinating day-of resource fair
