May Knowledge Network: Best Practices in Postsecondary Success
The Summer Melt Game Plan: we will unpack common reasons learners remain undecided on their postsecondary plans at the end of the school year. Learn about practical tools and strategies that empower students to take confident next steps. We'll also discuss the need for strong systems and proactive planning to reduce last-minute triage for students nearing the end of high school or programs.

Coffee & Conversation with OSSE's Dr. Mitchell
Join us for a virtual cup of coffee with State Superintendent of Education Dr. Mitchell for an update on the DC-wide graduate profile and updates on high school graduation requirements. While this session is geared mainly towards K-12 educators, administrators, and advisors, all are welcome.

Postsecondary Success for Students Experiencing Homelessness and Student Parents: This session focuses on targeted strategies to support the unique needs of students experiencing homelessness and student parents as they pursue postsecondary pathways. Participants will explore barriers these students face, identify high-impact practices and resources, and leave with approaches to create more inclusive support systems.

April 2025 Roundtable
Join us for our bi-monthly roundtable! This month, we'll be joined by the DC Department of Environment and Energy. They will share out about green jobs, the DC and national green labor market, and what types of employment and career pipelines we can create for our young people to join this fast-growing industry. We'll end our roundtable by debriefing our 2025 Summit and talking through what comes next.

2025 DC Postsecondary Success Summit: Diverse Pathways, Shared Success
On Friday, March 21st, 2025, we saw over 230 professionals in K12, higher and adult ed, nonprofit, workforce development, research/policy, philanthropy, and local government come together at Trinity Washington University and commit to improving early career outcomes for DC youth and residents. We are so grateful to all that attended, presented, tabled, and connected.

March Knowledge Network: Advancing Racial Equity in Postsecondary Success
In this first session, you'll explore the historical intersections of race, education, and urban change in Washington, DC. Participants will have the opportunity to share their own observations, discuss parallels to the history that is shared, and reflect on the lasting impact of these urban shifts. Whether you're a lifelong or new resident, educator, or history enthusiast, you’ll have the space to connect the past with the present and deepen your understanding of DC's evolving education landscape.

February Knowledge Network: Supporting Special Populations in Postsecondary Success
This month's session will focus on strategies to support youth experiencing homelessness and those impacted by the justice system in their postsecondary transitions. Participants will explore barriers these students face, learn best practices for providing targeted support, and gain access to resources. The session will emphasize asset-based approaches and practical tools to help these youth navigate education and career pathways.

HBCUs: Where Education Meets Culture
Our February session will explore strategies to improve access to and success in Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) for students in DC. We will examine common barriers, key supports, and best practices for guiding students. Topics including financial aid, persistence, and community resources.
