Theme 1: Charting Multiple Pathways to Success

These workshops will provide valuable resources, insights, and strategies for advising youth on their postsecondary goals, focusing on broadening their knowledge of diverse career and postsecondary pathways. Attendees will learn how to guide students in aligning their career aspirations with the best-fit options. Sessions will also explore key outcomes associated with various pathways and highlight high-quality local opportunities.

Theme 2: Trending Industries & Essential Skills: Unlocking Success in the Modern Job Market

As the job market evolves, understanding the booming industries and the essential skills required to succeed is more important than ever. These workshops will focus on the high-growth, in-demand trending industries, pathways to enter them successfully, and ensuring that young people and residents are prepared to be competitive candidates in these fields.

Theme 3: Targeted Supports for Postsecondary Success

What unique barriers do students and residents face once they leave high school? These workshops will cover effective strategies/resources for providing personalized academic and career guidance and resiliency for challenges faced by our young people, including Black males, emergent multilingual learners (EMLs), students with disabilities, adult learners, students experiencing homelessness, parenting students, and other special populations.

Theme 4: Navigating the Shifting Landscape of Education: Research & Policy

With national education priorities shifting under new leadership, staying informed is essential for educators, policymakers, and community leaders in DC. These sessions will explore the evolving landscape of education policy and research, with a particular focus on local research, policy developments, and evidence-based practices. Attendees will gain insights and tools to navigate these changes effectively and drive meaningful impact in the DC area.
