Amani Walker is a Job Placement Specialist with DC Public Schools, where she helps students with and without disabilities prepare for meaningful futures beyond high school. Through her work in transition planning, career development, work-based learning, workforce development, and employer and community partnerships, she strengthens pathways to postsecondary education, employment, and adulthood.

Amani holds a Master of Arts in International Education from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her professional experience includes work with Scripps College, New York University, George Mason University, and the Afterschool Alliance, spanning student development, leadership, community engagement, and career and postsecondary preparation. These experiences have shaped her passion for creating accessible pathways and helping young people thrive in school, work, and life.

A proud daughter of the DMV, Amani finds joy in spending time with family and friends, attending concerts, serving her community, and discovering great food and new experiences. She believes joy, connection, and a strong sense of possibility are important parts of both personal and professional growth.
