Shamelle Yemofio is an equity-centered college access and success advisor with more than a decade of experience supporting students and families throughout their ​postsecondary journeys.​ She earned her BA in Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her MA in School Counseling from George Washington University.  Her commitment to college access began as a low-income, high-achieving student who participated in a three-year college access program , where she later became a Gates Millennium Scholar. This transformative experience fueled her lifelong passion for providing educational strategies to students, families, and organizations.

As a former​ Director of School and College Counseling, Shamelle designed and implemented  college and career readiness curricula that has prepared thousands of students in the DMV for their next steps after high school. With deep expertise, an innovative spirit, and an unwavering belief in the power of education, she continues to advance the movement for equitable​ post secondary pathway success.
